LITTLE ROCK - Chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas Michael John Gray today put out another statement calling on Senator Tom Cotton to condemn Roy Moore in the wake of growing accusations of sexual misconduct with minors. Five women have now come forward reporting unwanted sexual advances by then-District Attorney Roy Moore. In one case, Moore reportedly said, "You’re just a child. I am the district attorney of Etowah County, and if you tell anyone about this, no one will ever believe you."
Chairman Michael John Gray:
"We've learned more than enough to be loud and unequivocal in our condemnation of the heinous acts Roy Moore has conducted. Silence in these horrible situations acts as an enabler.
"I call on Roy Moore to drop out of the Alabama U.S. Senate race and ask Senator Tom Cotton to join Mitch McConnell and Speaker Paul Ryan in condemning these vile acts and demanding Roy Moore to step aside. For someone who runs towards the microphone on seemingly every national issue, Senator Cotton's silence speaks volumes."
